Batch 1 — 10 units milled
10 units milled. 2 heat-treated + sharpened, out field-testing with hunters. Came in soft (~34 HRC) — stock wasn't Condition A, so the field samples are imperfect. Target 42–47 HRC.
Batch 2 — H900 temper
Solution-treated to Condition A (confirmed). H900 temper scheduled 2026-05-29 — result still unconfirmed. This batch proves the hardness spec.
6 prototypes
Six prototypes milled, not yet heat-treated. Queue behind the Batch 2 result so the temper recipe is locked first.
Target hardness
The blade needs 42–47 HRC to hold an edge without going brittle. Batch 1 landed soft because the stock wasn't Condition A.
